Orthopedic Services for Pets

Supporting the health of your pet’s joints, ligaments, and bones.

Contact Us

If your pet has been recently diagnosed or lives with a chronic condition, our orthopedic services provide support so their quality of life isn't impacted. Orthopedic conditions can range from hip dysplasia to osteoarthritis. Based on your pet's unique circumstances, we'll tailor a treatment plan that best meets their needs.

How do I know if my pet has an orthopedic condition?

Orthopedic conditions often have a range of symptoms, depending on the part of the musculoskeletal system it affects. Some symptoms you should be aware of include:

  • Weight loss
  • Limping
  • Stiffness
  • Lethargy
  • Decreased mobility

How do you decide which treatment is right for your pet?

First, we'll assess your pet's health condition to decide which treatment would best suit their needs. Your pet's age, breed, and overall lifestyle (especially if they have certain underlying issues) could impact the course of action we decide on. For example, we provide laser therapy to ease pain and inflammation for pets with arthritis, degenerative joint disease, and hip dysplasia. Some conditions need more extensive treatment, like orthopedic surgery. Corrective surgery can be recommended to treat a range of conditions. To find out if surgery is the best option for your pet, please contact us at (416) 231-9293.

Will my pet need anesthesia for the procedure?

If your pet needs orthopedic surgery, they'll most likely require anesthesia. Before it's administered, we'll do bloodwork to determine if your pet's body can process the medication well. During the procedure, your pet's vitals will be closely monitored to ensure they won't have an adverse reaction to anesthesia. If necessary, we can act quickly to ensure your pet's safety.
