Dr. Thomson has experience in general practice, emergency medicine, and animal shelters, and is a Fear Free Certified practitioner. Alongside her clinical work, she has conducted international research, led veterinary volunteer teams in disaster response efforts, and served as a policy advisor in the United States Congress. She is also an award-winning speaker and the Founder and CEO of One Health Lessons®, a global educational non-profit, and currently serves as Chair of the World Veterinary Association’s One Health Education Subgroup. She has lectured internationally at various universities as well as veterinary and One Health conferences.
Dr. Thomson is known and respected for her compassionate approach and strong communication skills, and she is committed to building trusting relationships with both pets and pet parents. She looks forward to meeting you and your four-legged family members at Royal York Animal Hospital.
Outside of the clinic, she enjoys playing the flute in a local orchestra, learning languages (working proficiency in French and conversational Spanish), and dancing.
